E-Card:

 

The Austrian E-Card (SV chip card) is the personal chip card of the electronic administration system of the Austrian social insurance (health, accident, pension, unemployment insurance). This system is intended to support the administrative processes between insured persons, employers, contractual partners (doctors, hospitals, pharmacists, etc.) and persons of equivalent status, as well as social insurance providers.

* If you are working in Austria for the first time you should definitely apply for the E-Card by the responsible authority!
